"Angel"

OFA Excellent Eyes CERFed clear Angel came to us when we spoke to Russell McCord who said he had a dog we just had to see. He called her the “hollywood dog”. Angel is a split faced, black and white female with a blue eye. She is named after the lyrics in the song from Phantom of the Opera-Angel of the night. Her personality is as striking as her face. She is a love to all people with a drive to work, typical of the American working Border Collie.

Angel entered her first conformation show with her first love, Alan, at the end of the lead. It was the first conformation show for both of them. She was in the 9-12 month puppy class. Since Alan taught her to stack in 15 minutes, it wasn’t much of a stretch for her to pull off a 5 point major her first time out and reserve the next day. We finished her championship with limited showing and she became the first CHX in the state of Texas.

In between shows, she earned multiple herding titles. She has a lot of eye and bite when you need it. She puts that loving temperament into her puppies as well as stock sense.

Angel has produced litters from Russell McCord's Sam and our own Spur. All the puppies started showing stock interest by 6 to 8 weeks and talent by 9 weeks. Several of these puppies are currently working on cattle ranches or competition of some kind. They have shown excellent working ability, talent, sound temperament and overall delightful disposition!

Alamar's Angel crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday, July 10th 2011. Angel was the foundation bitch for Alamar Border Collies. She is the mother of HC HCH Alamar's Rosie O, Alamar's This One's For The Girls HXAS HIBS, Grandmother of HC Alamar's Play It Again Sam, Alamar's Chairman of the Board HIAS HSBS, Alamar's Songbird HSAS , Alamar's Head 'Em Up HXAS HIBS, HC Alamar's Mirk, Alamar's Rumor Has It HXAS HIBS HSAD, Alamar's Pickin' and Grinnin' HSAS HIAS HXAS HSBD HSAD HSBS, Alamar's Sweet Gypsy Rose HXAS HXBS, Alamar's Kiss Me Kate HIAS HSBS MX MXJ OF, Alamar's Southern Gent HXAS HXBS, Alamar's Winning Hand HXAS HSBS, Alamar's Believe It Or Not HIAS HSBS, Alamar's Last Call HXAS HSAC and many more.

Angel was one of the first but won't be the last. She lives on in our hearts and through her grandkids! We will truly miss her.
