Alamar
is dedicated to the working Border Collie
with excellent health, structure, temperament, and herding ability.
Our dogs are screened for hip displasia, eye problems, and herding
ability. Alamar believes the only true test of herding ability is
actual work. We breed for herding ability, not the "hobby-type"
activities that sadly dilute the working ability of the American
Working Border Collie. The dogs work sheep, goats, or cattle regularly.
They compete
regularly in herding trials as well as work in animal assisted therapy.
Puppies
available occasionally.

Banjo is a Spur
son out of Rosie, born 12/21/2003. He was chosen to stay because
of his sweet disposition, talent and ability. He has every bit of
his Dad's power, but with a little more finesse. He has become invaluable
around the farm and is as dependable as they come. He has proven
his worth with extreme weather conditions when he worked in the
driving rain with a broken toe and never quit, to the 105 degree
heat without a falter. He has a heart as big as the state of Texas.
He is also the kindest soul with children and puppies and everyone
he meets. We are really excited about this boy. |

Mar Car Jem
Jem comes to
us from MarCar Border Collies in British Columbia Canada. Martha
McHardy has allowed us to purchase this lovely, talented girl that
we feel will be an outstanding addition to the Alamar ftradition
of the finest working dogs. Jem's sire is an open trial dog and
her mother works on a cattle farm. We are hoping she will blend
nicely with our current lines.
Jem has a natural
wide cast and walks up nicely on her stock. He has plenty of stamina
and loves to work. Look for her and Alan on the trial field in the
fall of '09.
